StraightUP!
FINDS The tilt you stopped feeling. Three IMU sensors. Real-time haptic feedback.
StraightUP! is a research-stage, waist-mounted wearable that uses three inertial measurement units to track pelvic alignment and deliver haptic feedback when posture shifts.
I led hardware iteration through ten prototypes and helped develop the alignment-score algorithm. The engineering work brings together sensor readings, firmware, alignment scoring, and the timing of the haptic response.
I also built the companion web app using Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase, including an AI coaching system that helps users review their posture sessions.
Device trials have been completed, with further research planned. Patent applications and a research-paper submission are in preparation, alongside the hardware and software already built.
